Vintage Deco Designed Van Riebeeck Plate Dome Lidded Butter Dish

Although not much information is available concerning the use of the Van Riebeeck Plate trade name, it is often also accompanied on certain items with BM Mounts, which is generally a Canadian mark, but also possibly European.

The item is a vintage silver plated butter dish designed with a deco styled pierced rim. The domed lid is original to the dish and is fitted with a bun finial. The glass inner is no longer present with this dish.

The butter dish is impressed underneath Van Riebeeck Plate EPNS, which although faded can still be partly seen.

Besides requiring a polish and the glass inner no longer present, the dish is in very good vintage condition.
