The Story

This teapot is a vintage ceramic "cottage ware" teapot designed to resemble a quaint, thatched-roof house.

The body of the teapot is shaped like a small, two-story house. The lid forms the textured, brown-coloured thatched roof, which has a small, simple finial at the top. The teapot is hand-painted in various colours, primarily green for the walls and foliage, white for the cross-beam accents on the front (suggesting a Tudor style), and brown for the roof and handle.

It features charming, detailed accents, including small green bushes and pink floral elements painted around the base and walls. A small, orange-brown front door is visible at the bottom center, and dark lines represent windows. It has a curved, tree branch-like brown handle on one side and a matching spout extending from the other side, blending into the house's architectural theme. The teapot is made from ceramic and has a glossy finish.

These types of novelty teapots were a popular collectible item, often manufactured by companies in Staffordshire, England, like Price Kensington or Keele Street Potteries, as well as in Japan, especially in the mid-20th century.

The teapot is in good vintage condition with no damages.

Height: 11 cm, Spout to handle: 13.5 cm, Base: 9.5 cm x 7.5 cm
