The Story

Royal Worcester can trace its roots as far back as 1751 when a conglomerate of fifteen men founded a porcelain factory in the city of Worcester.

There is some dispute as to whether Royal Worcester is the oldest English porcelain brand still in existence today, as Royal Crown Derby claim their establishment date as 1750. However, this still means that Royal Worcester is either the oldest or second oldest brand still operating today.

The item is a gorgeous blue willow Royal Worcester duo consisting of the cup and saucer. The cup has an ornately designed round handle and both items are adorned with gold trim.

Both items are stamped with the Royal Worcester Crown mark with 51 in the centre and Royal Worcester England.

Age related crazing and very slight fading of the gold trim in places, aside from which the duo is in excellent condition.

Cup height: 6.5 cm, Diameter of base: 4.6 cm, Diameter of rim: 6.8 cm

Saucer height: 2.8 cm, Diameter of base: 9 cm, Diameter of rim: 13.5 cm
