Vintage 1936-1954 WH Grindley, Tunstall, Creampetal Range porcelain Tea Pot - Averno Pattern

Designed and manufactured by WH Grindley & Co., Tunstall, this vintage item is a fine porcelain tea pot in the classical shape, but with prominent fluted sides and domed lid. The tea pot is fitted with a gooseneck spout and a prominent scroll handle and has an attractive scroll finial on the domed lid.

The tea pot has been decorated in Grindley’s Averno pattern, which was actually released during the 1940’s and discontinued during the 1950’s. The pattern displays gold trim with deep red, blue and golden yellow tiny flowers on a blue band with mustard yellow scroll insets.

Besides some gold trim loss on the handle, the item is in very good condition with no other visible damages.
