The Story

Beautifully decorated in what has been popularly known as Foley’s Tulips pattern, this fine porcelain tea plate manufactured between 1948 and the early 1950’s when this particular Foley Bone China back stamp was in use.

The tea plate has been designed with a scalloped rim decorated in a lovely golden spray while the Tulips pattern itself displays colourful and lively floral bouquets around the surface.

Elijah Brain and partners originally took over the firm at Foley Works owned by Robinson and continued to trade under the original name until 1903 when E. Brain & Co. was used. In 1958 E. Brain also took over Coalport China Ltd. and transferred it to the Foley China Works to be operated under Foley China. In 1963 production continued solely under the Coalport name.

Stamped underneath 1850 EB Foley Bone China Made in England.

The tea plate is in very good condition..
