The Story

In 1916 William Barratt (owing a firm called King & Barratt) purchased Gater Hall & Co. and both frims operated together until William closed King & Barratt in 1940. In 1943 he renamed Gater Hall & Co. Barratts of Staffordshire Ltd. In 1992 Barratts merged with Roayl Stafford China and became Royal Stafford.

This item is a porcelain serving platter designed with a deep well and decorated with Mallard ducks in flight above a marsh with two resting on the water.

The platter is stamped underneath with the Barratts of Staffordshire mark.

Besides age related crazing the platter is in very good condition with no other damages noted.

Height of rim: 3.6 cm, Length: 30.5 cm, Width: 24 cm
