The Story

The firm was established in 1801 by Mary Barker and was continued by her son William Barker in partnership with Creed under the style Barker & Creed. In 1885 the firm moved to Unity Works and became Barker Bros, Birmingham with Herbert Edward Barker and Matthias Barker Silversmiths Ltd. They purchased Levi & Salaman and in 1921 acquired Ellis & Co. becoming Barker Ellis.

This set consists of a silver plated open salt pot together with a matching mustard pot with hinged lid and empirical lid finial and scroll handle. Both items have extended rims and 4 paw feet. The mustard pot has a removable blue acrylic liner as well as an EPNS mustard spoon with dovetail handle.

The mustard spoon is handle stamped EPNS, while the mustard and salt pots are both stamped underneath Barker Ellis Made in England.

The items require polishing die to vintage patina, but are in very good condition with no other visible damages.
