The Story

The item is two ceramic dessert bowl manufactured by Burgess & Leigh, Burslem, between 1920 and the 1930’s. The bowls have been designed in their popular art deco style and decorated with the art deco wheat pattern. Black trim has been used on the rim of each bowl.

The bowls are stamped underneath Burleigh Ware, Burgess & Leigh Ltd., Est 1851, Burslem, England.

The bowls are in good second hand condition with age related crazing and discolouration, but no other visible damages.

Height of rim: 3.4 cm, Diameter of base: 6.4 cm, Diameter of rim: 15.5 cm
